Unfortunately restoration of Esopus Meadows Lighthouse has not yet progressed to the point where visitors can be accepted. However the lighthouse can be viewed from shore points on both the East and West sides of the Hudson River.

Take River Road off of Route 9W in Ulster Park (Town of Esopus), about 11 miles north of the Mid Hudson Bridge (across from El Paso winery). Follow River Road to the Hudson River. Entrance to the park is on the right, just past the Esopus Meadows Environmental Center and 100-acre Preserve, owned by Scenic Hudson. It affords excellent views of the 1871 Esopus Meadows Lighthouse, as well as views of historic Mills Mansion, in Staatsburg, on the opposite side of the River.

Take Mill Road off Route 9 (across from Hobson TV and Appliance) just south of the town of Rhinebeck. Follow Mill Road for 2.2 miles until the first right, which is Morton Road. Make a right turn onto Morton Road and proceed 1/4 mile to Wilderstein entrance on left. You can walk the grounds for free. If you walk down the lawn towards the river you’ll be rewarded with a view of the lighthouse from the north.
